North Carolina (NC)
Tar Heel State
Headquarters
Construction Safety Experts was established in Cary, North Carolina in 1996 by our founder, Terry Young. He knew that bringing a third-party safety staffing company to the triangle-area was the best move. 30 years later, Construction Safety Experts is still based in the triangle. As this business is in the central region of North Carolina, resources are readily available all around us. Business is continuing to be brought to the triangle, especially construction. The surrounding areas are ever-expanding and that allows Construction Safety Experts to provide safety managers in any corner of the state.
North Carolina is also know for having any and all terrains, which opens the door to new industries who many need safety managers with specific certifications and specialties. The state has been a hub for industrial construction for over 30 years and doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon.
Triangle/RTP
Like California on the West Coast, North Carolina has a well-known hub for all things business here on the East Coast: RTP. RTP, which stands for Raleigh Triangle Park, was first established in 1950 when North Carolina was seen as one of the worst economically-sustained states in the United States. As research and development became a bigger part of North Carolina’s economics, technology didn’t follow far behind. Over the next few decades, universities were being built in the area, which further fueled advancements of all kinds, including in the pharmaceutical industry. After decades of rebuilding North Carolina’s economy by building collaborative organizations, the state is now known for it’s manufacturing and pharmaceutical breakthroughs.
Large companies such as GSK continue to expand their efforts here in the Tar Heel State and also expand in other states such as Pennsylvania. Advancements in pharma means more construction and that is where Construction Safety Experts gets involved. In 2026, we have secured multiple safety managers on Johnson & Johnson sites in Wilson, North Carolina.
Data Centers & Big Pharma
While a range of industrial construction projects can be found in North Carolina, two major industries remain the most popular across the state.
Data centers need to be built where resources are readily available and North Carolina seems to be one of the best places for them. This is because of the tech giants that have migrated to the RTP area and are looking to expand. Data centers create dozen of jobs, especially for those in the construction and safety industries. According to the ABC Carolinas, because of North Carolina’s preferred energy source, Duke Energy, the state is becoming a natural hub for digital advancements.
Why does Construction Safety Experts send their safety managers to data centers? As simple as they may seem, the skills required to maintain them are beyond what meets the eye. Because our roster of safety managers is well-rounded and experienced, we have no doubt they are fully capable of meeting the high demands required of them on a data center project. Skills such as steel experience, scaffolding, electrical and more are essential when it comes to safely managing these projects. A safety manager being sent to a data center may have their typical OSHA certifications and other specific ones such as an NFPA 70E, an EM385, and even multiple years of electrician experience.
One of the biggest industries that helped rebuild North Carolina’s economy was the pharmaceutical industry. Big pharma companies like GSK and Johnson & Johnson are responsible for imperative research advancements in life-changing medicine. Before they are able to do that, labs and other buildings must be created and safely monitored. These construction safety managers have years of experience and have a keen eye for detail.
